Karawang, West Java — January 28, 2026
Strategic Collaboration for Vocational Development
The West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov Jabar), through the West Java Education Office (Disdik Jabar), officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Deli Indonesia Office Technology at SMKN 1 Karawang on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. The agreement marks a strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening vocational education and expanding employment opportunities for vocational high school (SMK) graduates across the province.
Provincial Policy for Industry–Education Integration
The partnership is part of a broader provincial policy requiring new industrial entities operating in West Java to establish formal cooperation agreements with the provincial government. This policy ensures that local vocational school graduates are directly integrated into industrial workforce pipelines.
Structured Pre-Employment and Internship Program
Governor of West Java, H. Dedi Mulyadi S.H., M.M., stated that the MoU framework prioritizes structured workforce preparation through pre-employment programs. Under the scheme, SMK students located near industrial zones will participate in a three-month apprenticeship (internship) program prior to graduation.
“Graduates who complete the program will be prepared as prospective employees without the need for formal recruitment selection. They can transition directly into employment,” Governor Dedi Mulyadi explained.
Language Competency and Global Workforce Readiness
As part of the implementation phase, the Governor also instructed the management of SMKN 1 Karawang to prepare 40 students to participate in specialized competency training programs, including English and Mandarin language training, to strengthen communication skills and workforce readiness in international industrial environments.
Strengthening the Link-and-Match Ecosystem
This collaboration reflects the West Java Provincial Government’s commitment to building a strong link-and-match ecosystem between education and industry, ensuring that vocational graduates possess both technical competencies and soft skills required by the labor market.
